Sometimes when life gets too much or we experience sustained periods of stress, it can feel like the weight of the world is on top of you. It’s natural human behaviour to look for ways to escape from everyday life temporarily, this is called 'self care' and it’s entering the mainstream more and more everyday.
More and more people are realising that self-care is important for taking care of their mental health - especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. According to Google Trends, searches for the term “self care” have just about quadrupled in the UK since 2015.
Taking time for yourself is essential for maintaining a healthy mind, and the best thing that helps you unwind will be entirely personal to you.
Everyone has a different way they do self care, some people go for a long hike to take in the fresh air, some get crafty, and some people like to relax and catch-up with their favourite TV show.
